The above links to an article showing just how tyrannical the Iranian regime is and what it hopes to bring to the world. The article is at the New York Post, which means you have to register there. (I use Yahoo’s “Addressguard” whenever I register for anything – it’s a service of Yahoo mail that allows up to 100 throwaway addresses. It’s a good spam avoidance technique.)
The gist of the article is that Iran’s newly elected president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has presented a 7000 word document to the Islamic Majlis (parliament) stating that in an Islamic country God is the ruler, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is the “Supreme Guide”, the chosen one from the family of the Prophet. Furthermore, Iran is destined to lead the whole of mankind into living under an Islamic theocratic state.
Ahmadinejad says that he will fight democratization in Iran, and will fight the United States to keep Bush from imposing democracy on the Middle East.
He seems certain that Iran will win, because it carries the banner of Islam, while the West has forgotten God.
Interpretation: the West recognizes religious liberty and no longer imposes a religion on its people by force of law. But the Iranian theocracy recognizes no such liberty.
According to this article, Ahmadinejad makes it clear that Iran intends for the whole human race to live under the most severe form of Islamic theocracy – the kind under which Iran lives today.
Ahmadinejad also champions the Total State, the invasion of the Islamic government into every nook and cranny of the individual’s life, including leisure, determining what one may read and write, what cultural products one may and may not enjoy, in order to avoid contamination with Western (democratic, individualistic, free-thinking) ideas.
Any form of sexual deviancy or immorality is forbidden. Read: homosexuals are dust, and young women who aren’t virgins on their wedding day can look forward to being stoned to death.
In short, Ahmadinejad intends to keep Iran as theocratic as it has been since the 1979 Revolution, and to spread this revolution to the entire world, with Iran as the center of the world, the leader of the revolution, vying with the United States over who will set humanity’s agenda.
Hold onto you brains, people. This is a fight between those who believe that the human being has an inalienable right to think out his values and convictions, to live by the honesty of his mind and to dissent peacefully without being physically violated by force, versus those who believe that a special few are charged by God with a mission to rule all of mankind by force, allowing no dissent to go unpunished and/or unkilled.
A friend of my husband’s and mine recently came back from a trip to Germany where she encountered an American undergraduate. This young man had no idea that the fight against terrorism is a fight against Islamic theocracy that intends to enslave mankind to its version of religion. He believed that the fight was purely against American “imperialism”, and did not know there was any kind of religious agenda involved.
He was shocked when our friend explained to him that the imperialism objected to by the Islamist terrorists is religious liberty and the freedom to choose your values and lifestyle by your own mind, being free from the physical coercion of the state telling you what you must believe and how you must live your life (right down to what you wear).
I find it shocking that any person living in this Information Age can be so insulated as to not know what is at stake in the present war. It’s not so hard to see how someone might be uncomfortable believing it, might doubt or deny it, but to not even have heard of it? Was this young man a freak of insulation, or is this common among college students today?
If you know someone like this young man, please send him or her to read the article linked to the top of this blog post.
Thank you and g’day,
